Our spectacular array of artisan jewellery is crafted from the handmade paper that we make from the native Central Australian grasses located on Curtin Springs Station. All the jewellery is created here at Curtin Springs.
This jewellery is available in three collections. Our permanent collections: The Conner Collection and The Dawn Collection.
We also have The Red Heart Collection 2017/2018. From the inception of the jewellery there was always a plan to develop art collections.
The Red Heart Collection was designed specifically for the inclusion in Eco Fashion Week 2017 and again in 2018. The designs are based on the shapes, textures and movements found in our landscape. The landscape, our home, the red heart of Australia.
2020 saw many tourism operators in Central Australia close their doors for extended periods or severely restrict their operations and Curtin Springs was certainly no different.
Central Australia started to wake up after Easter 2021 as visitors started to arrive for their adventures north during the cooler months of the year. (Our 'normal' busy time).
2021 was going to be the opportunity for you to visit Central Australia and enjoy a simpler time and we were really exciting about seeing a some new faces - we had missed you!
Then the current COVID craziness started and the strong forward bookings and visitors simply evaporated.
We lost the school groups, we lost the the fly drive travellers, we lost the tour groups and then we lost all those that had planned to come in any way shape or form.
The only current visitors in the region are those that were already travelling and well away from the areas of concern.
For us that means our visitor numbers are what we would normally expect to see in the quietest part of our quiet season (summer).
Many of us have had to make hard decisions about what services we can or cannot provide for the foreseeable future.
All the small business owners and operators in the region would ask visitors to respect the services that we are able to offer and that these services have a cost.
Please appreciate what is available in our very remote areas and please do not focus on what is not available at the moment.
